Opera Holland Park is recruiting for several exciting roles in its development department to launch the next stage of its development strategy; a key pillar of the organisation’s growth plans. The roles include: a Membership Manager; a Philanthropy and Major Gifts Manager; and a Development Coordinator.

Working as part of a small and friendly team, these roles offer the opportunity for the successful candidates to shape the fundraising strategy for the organisation, cultivate and steward the company’s loyal body of Members and Supporters, and build on the successes of previous campaigns. These are unique opportunities for the successful candidates to shape the roles to their strengths, whilst building on their previous experience in a flexible and creative team. Supported by a Director of Audiences and Engagement and working closely with the CEO, the department manages a large and loyal membership, many of whom have been part of the ‘OHP Family’ for decades. These roles are crucial to maintaining these close relationships through high quality stewardship and communication, in addition to growing the schemes and cultivating new support.

The Development Coordinator is a central role in Opera Holland Park’s fundraising team. Working to ambitious targets, they will support the team with general administration and help to build lasting relationships with individual donors.

They will be responsible for drafting renewal and thank you letters and other communications to Members and Supporters, ensuring company messaging is represented at all times.

They will assist in the delivery of hospitality and events, greeting donors during the summer festival of opera at the private Supporters Bar, as well as administrative tasks such as reporting, direct debit coordination, and inputting donor data on the ticketing system (Spektrix).

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and organised individual who is looking to expand their fundraising or customer service experience in a small and friendly team. This position provides the opportunity to build on administrative skills as well as donor/stakeholder relationships across all aspects of the Development portfolio.

Day in the life

Every day looks a little bit different, but you might find yourself sending out renewal and thank you letters to our Members and Supporters (including automated renewals), liaising with donors about their membership, organising small donation campaigns, managing event RSVPs including for our fundraising gala and other member events, processing complimentary ticket requests, processing direct debits and generally supporting your development colleagues. During the season, you will spend some evenings at the Opera Holland Park Theatre, stewarding our high level donors in our private Supporters Bar.
