Gala Evening, Tuesday 8th June 2021
Reception 6.00pm – 7.00pm
Performance 7.15pm

Join The Rugby Portobello Trust for a very special gala performance of Mozart’s most iconic opera, The Marriage of Figaro, brought to you by London’s most innovative opera company, Opera Holland Park.

The performance will be preceded by a reception hosted by The Rugby Portobello Trust in the grounds of Opera Holland Park. Working within Covid-19 guidelines, this brand-new production will be staged under a newly designed, open-air canopied auditorium, with a reduced capacity of 400 seats to accommodate social distancing.

A full refund will be available if the event has to be cancelled due to Covid-19. To ensure your visit is Covid-19 secure, we will be adopting Opera Holland Park’s Covid-19 policies for the evening, which can be viewed here.

If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or taking advertising in the Gala Programme for the evening, please contact Sophie Platts-Martin by emailing

About RPT

The Rugby Portobello Trust is a children’s, youth and family support charity that has been operating in North Kensington for over 130 years.

Every year, The RPT works with more than 1,300 children, young people and mums, all on our doorstep, supporting them through some of life’s most difficult times. In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, this support has been more important than ever – but also put unprecedented pressures on The RPT’s resources.

At the start of the pandemic, we quickly adapted our programmes to remote delivery to ensure that no one was left without support at one of the most distressing times in modern history. The RPT has returned to face-to-face delivery for programmes that are safe to do so and thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, we are now able to look ahead to the future and focus on what matters most: continuing to develop our services to support those in our community who need it. The impact of the pandemic on the children and young people that we work with will continue long into the future, which is why we are determined to ensure that we build back stronger and offer the best possible support to achieve long-term outcomes.

We are delighted to be partnering with Opera Holland Park for our first in-person fundraising event in over 18 months and very much look forward to being able to gather with our supporters once more. We’ve missed you!
