Soprano Anna Patalong and conductor Sonia Ben Santamaria present a performance of Canteloube’s idyllic Chants d’Auvergne in an arrangement for wind quintet and harp.
This collection of folksongs from the Auvergne region was arranged for soprano voice and orchestra between 1923 and 1930 and is sung in the ancient local language, Occitan. Many will be familiar with the famous ‘Baïlèro’ as well as ‘Obal din lou Limouzi’ that have been used in numerous film scores.
With thanks to Harry Hyman, founder and MD of the Nexus Group, for his very generous sponsorship of this event.
