The conductor Steuart Bedford, who died in February, was a good friend to Opera Holland Park, and conducted The Turn of the Screw here in 2014. On 31 July at 3pm, on what would have been Steuart’s 82nd birthday, we will celebrate his life and the publication of his memoir, Knowing Britten, with a gathering of some of his friends and favourite performers for an hour of music and readings.
Taking part will be Dame Felicity Palmer, Charmian Bedford, James Bowman, Richard Suart, Peter Savidge, with Frances Hills at the piano, and Christopher Gillett, who co-authored Knowing Britten.
Tickets are priced at £10. All proceeds will go towards a bursary for young conductors. Member Pricing does not apply to this event.
Ticket holders will also be able to buy Knowing Britten at the theatre with a £2 discount on the normal price of £18.
Tickets go on sale on Monday 19 July at 12pm.
