The production of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is based on Lewis Carroll’s classic fantasy novel of the same name. Using a mix of musical styles – including jazz and blues alongside more lyrical classical music – the story plays out with bags of humour, big bold characters and a young heroine on a brave mission to help her new friend. The workshops built on this, with participants expected to sing, act and let their imaginations run wild.
The format of the workshops aimed to:
- Inspire children’s imaginations with a fantastical story
- Use great storytelling that children could connect with emotionally
- Encourage children to actively participate and share the experience with their classmates
- Provide participants with positive role models and explore their characteristics
