The London West Music Hub is a consortium of five music services covering seven Local Authorities working together to maximise the music education potential of all young people in West London by turning opportunities into meaningful pathways through connected partnerships.
Together we deliver an expansive programme of musical learning, in and out of school. One key strand of our work is singing in all styles. The LWMH Vocal Day is the first time we have programmed an event solely focused on singing aiming to bring together choirs from across the 7 LAs. The event aims to help provide an opportunity to showcase existing choirs, to support emerging choirs, and to offer a collaborative shared vocal experience that can be a spring board for further embedding singing in all LWMH activity.
The LWMH is delighted to work in partnership with Opera Holland Park to help extend opportunities for young musicians. Opera Holland Park’s Inspire Community and Education programme, runs events in the community to increase access to the arts. Operating across three main areas – Youth & Education, Music for Wellbeing, and Community – the programme reaches over 6,000 people each year. Through Youth and Education projects, Opera Holland Park provides opportunities for hundreds of young people to experience opera for the first time including running performances exclusively for schools and providing performing opportunities for local young singers and musicians.
Doors will open at 3.00pm, with the performance running from 3.30–4.45pm.
