As a consequence of the UK government’s advice relating to the Covid-19 outbreak, Opera Holland Park is extremely sorry to inform you that the 2020 season scheduled to take place between June and August in our theatre in Holland Park will now not take place.
In light of the UK Government’s easing of restrictions on outdoor performances, we are delighted to announce that, in consultation with RBKC, we are working on an event to be held in Holland Park on the evening of Saturday 25 July.
In this episode, James is joined by Annie Lydford, Managing Director of Nevill Holt Opera. The two of them discuss arts careers, Annie's new role at Nevill Holt Opera, the welcome return of socially distanced live music making, and the innovations of the arts industry during the time of COVID-19.
On Saturday 4 July we were delighted to take our first steps towards a homecoming. We were determined to make music in Holland Park this summer, with City of London Sinfonia, and rehearsed and recorded a selection of arias from our principal artists to be incorporated into a film.
Founded in 1996, Opera Holland Park is an opera company with a unique voice. Based in Kensington, we present a summer opera festival of fully staged productions in one of the most beautiful parks in the Capital.
Opera Holland Park is aware of the #BlackOutTuesday movement among parts of the music industry that began to gather pace yesterday. We are individually and as a company committed to equality and we understand the desire of the music industry to make a strong statement about this issue. We will therefore now broadcast Un ballo in maschera on Wednesday 3 June at 7.30pm instead of this evening.
