Join us in Holland Park for our second outdoor performance of the summer and journey through some of the most delicious comic operas from the Viennese, Parisian and London stages.
Birdcatchers, gendarmes, lovers and policemen dance in and out of music by Mozart, Offenbach, Sullivan, Strauss and Lehár in this stylish evening of Singspiel and operetta, devised and conducted by John Andrews. A perfect apéritif for a summer’s evening at Holland Park.
Singers include Yvonne Howard, John Savournin, Fflur Wyn, Robert Murray and Alison Langer, with an ensemble of strings and woodwind drawn from our resident orchestra, City of London Sinfonia.
Unlike our normal summer season, this performance will be completely open air. We will provide seating but do check the weather and pack sunblock, sunglasses, a sou’wester or a blanket, as the show will go on come rain or shine.
In accordance with the current guidelines on social distancing and outdoor performances, our seating capacity is strictly limited to 200. We will continue to offer priority booking for both events to our Members and Supporters from Tuesday 28 July (see website for details). However, as per our aims of making opera accessible to all, we are pleased to be holding 50 tickets for public sale to enable some of the wider OHP community to attend. These will go on sale Wednesday 29 July at 1pm. Of course, Members and Supporters that were unable to purchase tickets during priority booking can also book during this time when these tickets are released. We would like to thank our Members, Supporters and wider audience for their continued support and understanding as we try to improve accessibility for these limited capacity events. There will also be waiting lists available for all performances in Holland Park this summer.
Please note that the programme is subject to change.
