Opera Holland Park is deeply saddened to learn of the death of the tenor, Rafael Rojas.
Born in Mexico, Rafael regularly appeared in the UK, specialising in the music of Verdi and Puccini. His performances for Opera Holland Park as Manrico in Il trovatore (2008) and Gustavo in Un ballo in maschera (2009) are fondly remembered by those who worked with him.
James Clutton, CEO and Director of Opera, says ‘I am devastated to hear the awful news about Rafael. It was always a pleasure to have him perform with us at Opera Holland Park. He was a fabulous singer with a warm and gentle spirit. Sending all love to his family and friends.’
