Wild Arts (★★★★ The Guardian, ★★★★★ Opera Now) presents Tchaikovsky’s passionate exploration of life, death, love, and pride in pre-revolutionary Russia – realising Pushkin’s heartbreaking story with fervour and lyricism.
Directed by the former Artistic Director of Shakespeare’s Globe, Dominic Dromgoole, and conducted by Orlando Jopling, the production is arranged for chamber orchestra and staged in period costume, with a new English translation.
