Join City of London Sinfonia on stage at Opera Holland Park for an evening of serenades; music created for open air, light evenings and to celebrate the ones we love.

Synopsis

The serenade was the original outdoor party music — composed in the eighteenth century for friends, patrons and special occasions. You don’t need to know anything about orchestral music to feel it. It is music that knows how to celebrate and what it is to long for somewhere or someone.
Alexandra Wood leads the orchestra from within, introducing each piece and weaving together the stories behind the music — letters sent to loved ones, melodies that reach for somewhere just out of sight, and folk songs that live on in shared memory.

Come with us to the beautiful surroundings of Holland Park, where music moves between the intimate and the expansive: music written for the people we celebrate — the ones we long for, write home to, the ones who are with us, and the ones we wish were.

Bring whoever you’ve been meaning to spend an evening with. No dress code, no expertise required – just the kind of summer night you’ll always remember.
