In addition to the recitals and masterclass, Julien Van Mellaerts and Dylan Perez present a record launch of Opera in Song, through the release of “Dialogues”, a song recital CD released on Delphian Records this June.
In 2022 they commissioned “The Lake” by Errollyn Wallen as a companion piece to Schubert’s “Schwanengesang” and it was a huge success at the premiere by Ema Nikolovska and Kunal Lahiry. Dylan and Julien have recorded this recital and will be launching it at the 2026 Opera in Song series as a celebration of this work that was created thanks to this recital series.
Down the rabbit hole: 22 June, 7pm Madeline Boreham and Robert Murray, favourites at OHP, join Dylan Perez to tumble down into an imagining of Lewis Carroll’s seminal novel, Alice’s Adventures Under Ground. The programme explores the nonsensical prose of the novel as well as influences in Carroll’s life and creativity including works by Elgar, Walton and their contemporaries.
A Public Masterclass: 24 June 4pm Join us in the afternoon at as Louise imparts her knowledge to the OHP Young Artists in a public masterclass before her evening performance.
The silence between: 24 June, 8pm An evening with star soprano Louise Alder, pianist Dylan Perez, and OHP Young Artists perform works by Mozart, Haydn and Mendelssohn.
Freedom lies in being bold: 26 June, 8pm An evening of American music inspired by La fanciulla del West. Cowboys and love stories meld as we explore American values and history. Soprano Olivia Boen joins Julien Van Mellaerts and Dylan Perez to perform works by Copland, Previn and Berstein.
Booking will open for all Members and Supporters on 11 February with General Booking opening on 25 February from 10am.
With special thanks to the Kiri Te Kanawa Foundation for their generous support since the inception of this series.
