Experience the enchantment of a summer evening in one of the city’s most beautiful parks and the surging power of Carl Orff’s Carmina burana in a gala performance at Opera Holland Park. Described as “London’s greenest theatre” by the Evening Standard, our venue is constructed from reclaimed timber and shipping containers, with two public bars, an exclusive members bar, and stunning views across the lawns and woodland of Holland Park as the sun sets.

Conceived as ‘total theatre, Carmina burana is one of the most exciting choral works of the 1930s, based on texts from mediaeval Bavaria that celebrate life at its most vibrant, hedonistic, greedy and immediate. Drinking songs, libidinous monks, wild dances and the plangent lament of a roasted swan on a spit feature in this iconic creation.

Dominic EllisPeckham conducts the Opera Holland Park Chorus in a single performance on DATE, with soloists Fflur Wyn (Turandot), Ruari Bowen (Acis and Galatea) and James Cleverton (Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland), in Wilhelm Killmayer’s propulsive arrangement for two pianists and five percussionists, showcasing the company’s acclaimed chorus as heard at Opera Holland Park, the Aldeburgh Festival and Sadler’s Wells.
