Rodula Gaitanou

Born in Athens, Rodula Gaitanou studied as a violinist before continuing her studies in Musicology at La Sorbonne, Paris. She moved to Opera Staging at Université Paris 8 and studied physical theatre at the International Theatre School Jacques Lecoq. Rodula has had numerous international successes including L’oracolo/La mala vita and Vanessa (Wexford Festival Opera), Ariadne auf Naxos (Gothenburg Opera), Guillaume Tell (Victorian Opera) and Lucia di Lammermoor (Opera Hedeland). For Opera Holland Park she has directed The Queen of Spades (2016), La traviata (2018) and Un ballo in maschera (2019).

 

Martin Lloyd-Evans

Martin has directed over 40 productions in the UK and abroad. His first production for Opera Holland Park was Don Giovanni (2002). Since then he has directed Stiffelio, Le nozze di Figaro, Andrea Chenier, The Queen of Spades, L’amore dei tre Re, La Gioconda, Un ballo in maschera, Francesa da Rimini, La Wally, Gianni Schicchi, Zanetto, I gioielli della Madonna, Adriana Lecouvreur, Il tabarro, Die Fledermaus, La rondine and Isabeau for the company. As well as directing operas for companies including Classical Opera Company, The Grange Festival, Scottish Opera, British Youth Opera, Mid-Wales Opera and Operosa, Montenegro, he has worked extensively on new and developed theatre pieces and is Resident Producer at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

 

Rebecca Meltzer

Rebecca is a director and movement director, primarily working in opera. She studied Music at Durham University, followed by a Masters in Movement at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She has worked with companies and institutions including the Royal Opera House, English Touring Opera, Wexford Festival Opera, British Youth Opera, Blackheath Halls Opera, Shadwell Opera, National Opera Studio, Iford Arts, Bury Court Opera, Dorset Opera Festival, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Trinity Laban, Royal Academy of Music and Tête à Tête. She is also a founding director of Waterperry Opera Festival. For Opera Holland Park Rebecca was assistant director on Rodula Gaitanou’s production of Un ballo in maschera and is a 2020 OHP Young Artist
