Inspire is Opera Holland Park's award-winning outreach and education programme. It was created in 2010 in recognition of our social responsibility to our community.
We are dedicated to creating accessible routes into opera, to providing exciting first experiences for those who are new to the art form, and to unlocking memories for those who may not have been for a while. Our ultimate goal is to offer a space of creation and discovery for all people.
We do this in four different ways:
We work with companies, charities, schools and community groups within our local borough of RBKC and beyond, to engage and immerse all people into the world of opera.
Through our annual Schools Matinees we introduce younger audiences to opera with tailored workshops and full performances.
Our artists and facilitators lead a broad range of bespoke events ranging from singing lessons to lunchtime recitals, allowing all people to enjoy the benefits of music making.
We aim to spark an enthusiasm for opera through our work. With new projects always in progress, our hope is to build long-term relationships with local people that will keep their love of opera burning throughout their lives.
As well as our year-round work in the community, we work to make our summer season operas as accessible as we can. This includes subsidised Inspire tickets at affordable prices, exclusive offers for Under 30s, free tickets for Under 18s and Over 65s and half price tickets for NHS staff and community workers. Through our Discovery Matinees we also offer Relaxed Performances, Audio Description and weekend afternoon performances perfect for families. The Discovery Matinees are held for each opera in our summer season.
