The Opera Holland Park Young Artists Scheme is unique in the UK, offering the opportunity for up and coming talent to rehearse in a professional environment and perform on a major London stage to a paying audience during our summer festival. The scheme also encourages participants to develop new skills through their involvement with our award-winning Inspire programme.

The Young Artists will rehearse alongside the main Un ballo in maschera with their own dedicated director, conductor and répétiteur, before giving two performances, one at the Schools’ Matinee on Wednesday 26 June and the other at 7.30pm on Friday 28 June.

The cast for the 2019 Young Artists performance of Un ballo in maschera is as follows:

Anckarström – Jack Holton

Oscar – Claire Lees (supported by Charles and Annmarie Mackay)

Madame Arvidson – Georgia Mae Bishop

Ribbing – Blaise Malaba

Horn – Tom Mole (supported by Ruth Wyman)

Cristiano – Samuel Oram

Associate Conductor – Sonia Ben-Santamaria

Associate Director – Rachael Hewer

Young Artists Répétiteur – Lucie Sansen

The Young Artists will also be joined by Adriano Graziani, who will appear as Gustavo, and Nadine Benjamin, who will sing the role of Amelia.

Our Young Artists are generously supported by the Young Artists Circle – a special group of people who believe in nurturing talent and enabling emerging artists to progress their operatic careers.

The support of the Young Artists Circle makes a huge impact on the experiences and training we can offer. If you would like to find out how you can make a difference to a Young Artist, please contact Rosamund Hatfield on rosamund.hatfield@operahollandpark.com or 020 3846 6215.

We’ve put together some short profiles to introduce you to the Young Artists, which you can see in the gallery below.
