Inspire has developed a series of in-school workshops to explore, break the boundaries and overcome the taboo surrounding learning disabilities. Having worked with Kensington & Chelsea Learning Disability Service on a number of projects over the years, Inspire has once again collaborated with the team and service users to create educational workshops for schools and social groups.
Our bespoke workshops aim to increase understanding of learning disabilities, encourage empathy and promote acceptance for the community in which people live. Opera Holland Park singers and musicians work together with children and young people alongside adults with learning disabilities to create a musical story about what it means to be unique, and how our identity should not be defined by stigmas or perceptions of disability. An exciting addition to any primary or secondary school’s PSHE curriculum, these educational workshops are individually tailored to each school.
To run a workshop in your school or social space we will need one large clear space or two large clear classrooms. Workshops last two and a half hours, and can be adapted to suit your school. Workshops are created for 30 pupils, and are best suited for Years 3-5.
