The free Under 18 Tickets scheme was introduced in 2005 to help families access opera for the first time, with tickets made available for audience members aged 7-18 and an accompanying adult. From 2025, we will be exploring new ways to reach younger audiences and their families.
2026 Season
Booking for the 2026 Season opens on March 11 at 10am.
Free tickets to performances of The Bamboo Princess and Die Fledermaus will be offered to children and their carers via Inspire and in collaboration with the charity, All Child, which supports communities in underserved communities across the UK to help children and young people build the social, emotional and academic skills they need to flourish.
Booking is now open via our Box Office on 0300 999 1000 and online.
To book online:
- Log into/create your OHP account
- Navigate to your chosen performance(s) and select up to 4 Band D Tickets (yellow dots) – you may select as many additional full priced tickets as you wish
- On the following page where your individual tickets are listed, change the drop down menu from “FULL PRICE” to “UNDER 18” – PLEASE NOTE: The discount will only be applied once you are in the basket page, do not be put off by the price listing.
- Proceed to your basket, double check all details and proceed with payment

Eligibility
Young people aged 7–18 are eligible to apply for free tickets. Children aged 7–15 years old must be accompanied by an adult (over 18 years) whose ticket is also free. A free accompanying adult ticket is only available where there is a young person aged under 16 years applying for tickets. Qualifying individuals may book for up to four tickets: one adult and up to three under 18s via the Box Office by phone. Customers are welcome to purchase any additional tickets for other member’s of their party.
All Under 18 Ticket Holders will be required to present valid ID proving age when entering the venue. Anyone unable to prove eligibility for this scheme will be refused entry.
