Traditional carols accompany Dickens’s words in this concert staging of Will Todd and David Simpatico’s A Christmas Carol: A Musical Retelling, directed by Martin Duncan.

Eight of Opera Holland Park’s regular principal singers share the roles of the ghosts and figures from Ebenezer Scrooge’s life, accompanied by piano, double bass, accordion and the chime of handbells.

This fresh telling of Scrooge’s redemption from greed and loneliness brings all the spookiness, heartbreak and uplifting warmth you’d expect from Dickens’s legendary Christmas ghost story.

PLEASE NOTE: the previously announced 1 and 2 December dates for this production have unfortunately now been cancelled due to new government COVID-19 restrictions.

In common with many other companies, we will be monitoring developments over the next four weeks, with a view to rescheduling the performances for a later date. We look forward to welcoming you at the earliest opportunity.
