With L'amico Fritz now open, take a first look at this acclaimed production, which the Guardian calls "the perfect opera to hear on a hot summer’s night".
Fritz is convinced that marriage is not for him. Suzel would like to change his mind, but Fritz won’t get the hint. Could it be time for the local rabbi to step in and help things along?
L’amico Fritz is a feel-good romantic comedy set amidst cherry orchards and vineyards by the composer of Cavalleria rusticana, showing us his gentler side and reminding us what friends are for.
This new production is directed by Julia Burbach, designed by Alyson Cummins, and conducted by Beatrice Venezi. It also features lighting design by Rory Beaton and choreography by Cameron McMillan.
The cast includes Matteo Lippi as Fritz Kobus, Katies Bird as Suzel, Paul Carey Jones as David, and Kezia Bienek as Beppe.
Ticket availability is extremely limited, so we recommend filling in this form to join our waiting list for returns.
Alternatively, a limited number of Side Seats go on sale every Monday at 12pm, for that week’s performances.
