A meaningful activity like attending an evening of high-quality opera with family and friends can help to overcome isolation and broaden horizons, something which is particularly important for our older audiences. This is why we continue to offer free opera tickets for those over the age of 65.
2021 Season
Despite the capacity of our theatre reducing to just 40%, we are pleased to continue to offer Free Tickets for Over 65s in our 2021 Season. They are available on the following performances:
- The Marriage of Figaro Discovery Matinee and Relaxed Performance: 20 June at 2pm
- La traviata Discovery Matinee and Relaxed Performance: 19 June at 2pm
- The Cunning Little Vixen Discovery Matinee and Relaxed Performance: 25 July at 2pm
- L’amico Fritz Discovery Matinee and Relaxed Performance: 18 July at 2pm
How to apply
Applications for this scheme can be made either individually or as part of a community group. We encourage our audiences to apply as part of an organised group such as a day centre, retirement café, older persons’ forum, or through a charity such as Age UK or Contact the Elderly.
Please note: if applying as part of a community group, you can apply for up to 10 tickets per performance. If you are applying as an individual, you may apply for a maximum of 2. When making your application, please mark on the form if you or any of your party have any access needs, and we will ensure that these are accommodated. Applications for tickets for operas in our 2021 Season will open soon. Please note that we will be giving priority to those who were allocated tickets in our postponed 2020 Season.
Tickets are allocated through a ballot system. Applications close on Wednesday 14 April. We will let applicants know whether they have been successful by Monday 19 April ahead of INSPIRE £22 tickets becoming available.
